Printing & Wireless Printing

Please visit the Information Technology page for extensive information on printing in the Print Center. If you have difficulty setting up print privileges, "Lab Print" system, print quota (i.e. adding credits to your balance), changing settings on your device (like "double-sided"), or any printer/software issues, please contact Computing Technology Services (CTS) help@duq.edu or lawit@duq.edu. Visit the Law IT Printing Page for in-depth details about printing at Duquesne Kline School of Law. Print quota increase requests must be made to University Computing Technology Services (CTS) help@duq.edu or visit during regular business hours at Room 206 Duquesne Student Union.

Comprehensive University Web Site on Printing: https://www.duq.edu/student-printing

Regular 8.5" X 11" Double sided: When printing regular 8.5" X 11", and you would like your print job to be double-sided, go into your print dialogue box, on your machine (laptop, pc, device, etc. ..). Select "double sided" from the settings, before sending the job.

Legal Size Paper (and double-sided) Printing: Printer trays are NOT stocked with legal size paper. If you need legal size paper, please inquire at the Information desk. NOTE: You will need to feed legal size (or any paper larger than 8.5" X 11"), through "Tray 1", located on the right side of each printer.

The printers in Room 218B and Room 117, do NOT print "legal size" paper, or larger, double-sided, automatically. However, it can be accomplished manually, on a limited page basis. For instance, if you need to print a double-sided, legal size (or larger format) document, you can do so manually by the following steps:

1.  Ask for several pages of legal size paper at the information desk (it might take a few test runs to get the output to your desired expectations, so grab a couple extra sheets).

2. Once you've edited/finalized your document, go to the "size" tab in Word, or other app, and select legal size paper (or other desired size).

3. Go into your print dialogue box, on your machine (laptop, pc, device, etc. ..). Select "double sided", if so desired.

4. Click "Printer Properties", and select "Tray 1", before clicking the "Print" button.

5. Release the print job via "Lab Print" system.

6. Open "Tray 1", located on the right side of the printer, and place your legal size (or larger) paper in position, to feed into the printer. Click "OK", on small touch screen located on front of the printer

Color Printing

The Law Library's printers are NOT equipped for color printing, however, here is the DU campus option for color printing.

Color Printing: You can submit color print jobs, through the "Lab Print" Interface, to be printed and picked up in the lounge area in the Student Union Building (across the hall from Starbucks) next door to Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University (color prints are fifteen (.15) cents per page, each side).

Book a Study Room

Please be considerate when using all Study Rooms, especially concerning noise. The rooms are not soundproof, and your fellow students in neighboring rooms, as well as students studying in nearby Duquesne Kline Law Library open areas, will be negatively impacted by any excessive noise you generate. In other words, for the sake of your fellow Duquesne Kline Law Students, please keep noise down to a minimum while using the Study Rooms. Also, when finished with a room, please leave it in usable condition for the next group. This means gather up any trash, or other loose items, and take it with you upon exit. This especially pertains to any perishable food items, or other items, that may result in rotten or offensive odors. Your fellow students appreciate your help, consideration, and courtesy while using these shared, community resources.

Duquesne Kline Law Library bears no responsibility for any objects you leave unattended!

Terms and Conditions:
1. Rooms can be reserved up to five days in advance.
2. Rooms are available to Duquesne Kline Law Students, Staff, and Faculty only.
3. Rooms can be reserved in a single four-hour block; each user is limited to a single four-hour booking per day across all rooms.
4. The maximum amount of time that a group can reserve across all study rooms is four hours per day. If the Duquesne Kline Law Library's staff notices that one group is clearly monopolizing a room by having different group members sign up for time slots, we reserve the right to honor the first four hours of reservations and open up the remaining hours.
5. If a room is not reserved, it is available on a first come/first served basis. (We recommend you still make a reservation, at that point, to avoid the possibility of another student making a reservation in the meantime, resulting in potential loss of the space. In other words, the online reservation takes precedence over physical occupancy.)
6. The system will send an email confirmation. That is your proof of reservation.
7. A group that is more than 15 minutes late will be deemed to have surrendered its reservation.
8. There are no key checkouts. Please do not lock doors. Doors must remain unlocked.
9. Please do not leave your belongings unattended (backpacks, laptops, valuables, etc.) in the Study Rooms. Duquesne Kline Law Library is not responsible for lost or stolen items left unattended.
